Trophy Tykes privacy policy
Version 1.0 · effective July 31, 2026
Privacy Policy for TrophyTykes
Effective date: 31 July 2026
The short version
TrophyTykes is built to work without collecting personal data. We do not sell data, we do not run third-party advertising trackers, and we do not require an account to use the core features.
Information the app handles
Location. If you grant location permission, your coordinates are used on your device to calculate location-dependent features. Coordinates are not transmitted to our servers.
App content you create. Notes, entries, tracked items and settings are stored locally on your device unless you explicitly enable a backup or sync feature.
Diagnostics. If you opt in to crash reporting, anonymous crash traces are collected to help fix defects. These contain no personal identifiers.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect your name, phone number, contacts, photos, messages, or browsing history.
Permissions the app requests
Each permission is requested only when the corresponding feature is used, and the app remains usable if you decline.
Children
TrophyTykes is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Data retention and deletion
Data stored on your device is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data. If a cloud backup is enabled, you can delete it from within the app at any time.
Third-party services
Distribution platforms such as Google Play collect their own data under their own policies. Please review the policy of the platform you install from.
Changes to this policy
We will update the effective date above whenever this policy changes, and note material changes inside the app.

Legal basis for processing
Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on your consent for optional features such as crash reporting, and on our legitimate interest in keeping the app secure and functional for everything else. You can withdraw consent for optional features at any time in the app settings, and the rest of the app continues to work normally.
Your rights
You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to a particular use. Because almost everything the app stores lives on your own device, most of these rights are exercised directly: clearing app data or uninstalling removes the information. If you have enabled an optional backup, deleting it from the app removes the server-side copy too. Where you need our help, contact us using the form on this website and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
Any data that does leave your device is sent over encrypted connections. Optional backups are stored with a reputable cloud provider under access controls that restrict them to the small number of people who maintain the service. No system is perfect, so we also keep the amount of data we hold deliberately small — the less we store, the less there is to lose.
International transfers
If an optional backup or diagnostics service stores data outside your country, that transfer is covered by the provider's standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority — in the United Kingdom, that is the Information Commissioner's Office.
